What we measured

On September 14, 2026, Integrated Social reviewed 50 solo and small law firm websites across Torrance, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Carson, Compton, Gardena, Hawthorne, and El Segundo. Five firms were selected per city across several consumer-facing practice areas.

Two sites returned no response after two attempts and were excluded from scoring. Every percentage below uses the 48 accessible sites as its denominator. This is a snapshot of what was observable on the audit date; a site may have changed since then.

Nearly three-quarters had stopped publishing

Thirty-five of 48 accessible firms had no blog or resource update within the previous six months. This criterion records recency, not writing quality or publishing volume.

Photos and reviews were each absent on a third of sites

Seventeen firms showed no real attorney photos, and 17 displayed no client reviews on the site. Seven lacked both. The audit did not assess the quality, age, or source of any displayed review.

Thirteen homepages added contact friction

Ten homepages had no tap-to-call phone link and seven had no clear call to action above the fold. Thirteen failed one or both checks. The audit did not measure call volume or conversion rate.

One quarter lacked dedicated practice-area pages

Twelve firms presented their practice areas without a dedicated page for each. This records page availability only; it does not claim that a dedicated page will rank or convert.

Scores varied across the sample

The average computed score was 5.9 out of 8. Eight anonymized firms met all eight criteria, while nine scored four or below. These binary checks measure presence, not implementation quality.

Average score by sampled city

Small city samples should not be treated as rankings of entire legal markets. Each city includes five selected sites, except Carson’s average uses three accessible sites.

Methodology and limitations

  • Sample: 50 firms, five per city, selected from web search results for ten South Bay cities.
  • Audit date: September 14, 2026.
  • Scored sample: 48. Two Carson sites returned no response after two attempts and were excluded.
  • Criteria: HTTPS, homepage tap-to-call link, above-fold CTA, real attorney photos, reviews displayed, dedicated practice-area pages, a resource updated within six months, and homepage transfer weight under 3 MB.
  • Scoring: One point per observed criterion. Presence does not establish quality, causation, traffic, ranking, or conversion performance.
  • Privacy: The downloadable rows are anonymized. No conclusion is intended about a firm’s legal ability or client service.
